Today I managed to finally meet up with a couple of friends who are staying in Meribel at the moment for the British Ski and Snowboard Championships. Gemma Russell (right) is Operations Manager for Snowsport GB and Hannah MacGillivary (left) has been in charge of start and finish judging for the Championships. We know each other because we were on the same Scottish and British Equestrian Vaulting (gymnastics on horseback) teams and at the time none of us had ever skied or boarded. Having travelled Europe together doing a totally different sport it was a bit wierd to meet up in France without a horse in sight but snowsports seem to have taken over for providing our sporting thrills in these days of old age!

British Championships!
