Firstly this morning I had a call saying hot ashes had been left on the balcony of a Chalet and burned a hole in the balcony, then I had another saying there was a lift strike in Meribel and Val Thorens ... I was panicking about both when I realised it was April fools day! You guys got me good! Today the plan was to go
Telemarking for a bit of a laugh (thats skiing with funny boots and bindings, David, not trying to sell people things over the phone!). Unfortunately the shop we went to was out of boots and skis! As there seems to be only one place that hires out telemarking skis in Courchevel, this kind of scuppered our plan! We got our normal skis on and headed to the park to do some jumps (scary!) then over to Meribel. As you can see it was a gorgeous day but as soon as it was decided to go to Mont Vallon I was wary... The others have also noticed that any time I go down Mont Vallon it either rains or snows! Ominous dark clouds started building on the horizon and I grew increasingly worried! However, today the mountain decided to give me a break and there was no precipitation and good visibility all the way down. It's still not my favourite run although some rave about how good it is but at least I have seen where I'm going for once! Telemarking will have to wait for another day!
